Bio
Junheng was from the hometown of hotpot, the city of Chongqing. After spending his undergrad time in Shanghai (and shortly at Berkeley), he chose to do a PhD in atomic physics with Ian Spielman at NIST and UMD, where he built a lab to create many Bose-Einstein condensates but always scratched his head to understand the border between classical and “quantum” physics in these tiny objects. He recently joined the Doyle group in order to play with a new toy that he liked – polyatomic molecules. He is eager to see whether by creatively adding ingredients one can make them fun quantum many-body system (or fun system with many quantum degrees of freedom).
Outside the lab, his excitement has not yet ceased in exploring the area which shares similarity to his hometown. He is curious about all the new things – new hikings, new board games, and new molecules.
